How to Deal with Cravings

This post is for all of us when we suffer from cravings time & again. I’m sure every one of us has a craving at one point that sometimes even leads to binge eating. So how do you deal with those cravings?

☑️ Whenever that craving hits, think if it’s really a craving for that  food, or its flavour. If it’s only for the flavour- try incorporating that into a nutritious bowl of salad/ soup/ protien. (Eg. Craving for French fries– eat baked potatoes with a dash of salt instead, craving for an ice-cream– eat flavoured yoghurt/homemade fruit popsicles instead)


☑️Consider you are craving for a pizza & order for one.
Will you feel full after eating a slice of pizza (~300 Cal)? No. But will your craving stop? Yes
But you’d definitely feel full after having a bowl of salad (~150 Cal)! So what do you do? Have both. First the salad, to get you filled up, then the pizza for your craving.
In that case, you get to have your favourite food, & also feel  satiated with that salad.


☑️ Do you have this craving because you relate it with something? I’m watching a movie so I need to have a tub of popcorn. I’m on my period so I need to have that bowl of icecream. In that case, find an alternative.

☑️Cook instead of ordering:
If you want to have pasta- make it at home . By doing so,  you have complete control over the ingredients you add in your meal. You can also add the veggies & protien you enjoy,  to that to make it more nutritious (which you can’t/will have to pay extra if you order!)


☑️Lastly, the major reason you crave for something is because you might be starving yourself. Never let your body feel too hungry, this would make you over-eat at one point of time. Find a way to ‘treat’ yourself with a fav  dish once a while so you’d not miss it. .

Always Remember- one slice of pizza won’t make you fat & one bowl of salad won’t make you fit. Moderation is key.

PS: I promise I didn’t eat all those donuts!
